Got a chance to do a shoot with real autumn weather today!! These kids had a blast running around and they just laughed and laughed-they were so much fun to shoot. Also, get a look at the eyelashes on the little boy-they are to die for. Best story for today-when I told these guys to run right at me, they did, but for a HUG! It was so sweet. Thanks guys for such a great shoot-here is your sneak peek!
Mike & Kristi got married this past Saturday on one of the most beautiful days of this year. It was mild, breezy and the perfect mix of sun and clouds! Kristi was the calmest bride I have ever met, she kept her cool the entire time and looked like a princess/goddess (Kristi-your pick!). The wedding went off pretty darn perfect and this awesome couple was so into the whole day and each other! One of the funniest things of the day, for me, was this sweet little girl at the reception taking my picture. I even let her take a picture of me with my camera (gasp-no worries I was holding it for her). Maybe for 2008 I will start an under 5 photo assistant program :) Mike and Kristi-I hope you are having a blast on your honeymoon and I wish you a lifetime of happiness together-here is your sneak peek...
Both the Locks of Love and the Relay for Life are two organizations that I support. In the past 7 years I have donated my hair two times to the Locks of Love and support several Lancaster Relay for Life teams, including Susan's Squad (more on that later). So when I got a call asking if I would document three ladies cutting and donating their hair to the Locks of Love, I was on it! Locks of Love is (and I quote this from the website) "a public non-profit organization that provides hairpieces to financially disadvantaged children under age 18 suffering from long-term medical hair loss from any diagnosis."
Two of the woman cutting their hair are co-workers of mine (from that other job I have) and the third "little lady" is my all time favorite super model! When asked why she was donating her hair, "C" replied with an answer that made all of us tear up (I will have to link the video-total tear jerker). One of the funniest things of the night was how long it took to cut my co-worker Beth's hair-it was so thick. Beth started a Relay for Life team in 2001 after her close friend Susan lost her battle to Cancer. Susan's Squad raises money all year round by having yard sales and selling snacks and sodas to our office staff. Beth told me recently that Lancaster's Relay teams raised a total of $1,096,443 this year, placing our humble county 3rd in the nation. That is AMAZING!!!
Getting back to the Hair donating-at the end of the night 30 total inches were going to be donated! I am so happy that I got to be a part of that-here is a sneak peek...
This past weekend our family trekked up to Dinosaur Rock. Ted and Ben got to Geo-cache, Cate & Alex got to play in the woods and I got to chase everyone around and take pictures-it was a perfect day. My favorite shot had to be this one of the kids and the dinosaur rock (yes-this is with my fish eye lens-love it!!) Now for the contest-I added graffiti (2 things) that are Beth Cardwell Photography related to the image. You try and find them-It is like Beth Cardwell Photography meets Where's Waldo!! First one to correctly identify both in the comments section, wins an 8x10 from a past or future session!! Little tip, click on the image to enlarge it! Good Luck!
Cate and Alex go to school with this little cutie and felt they should get to pick out one of the pictures for "O's" sneak peek. It was a tough choice because "O" was such a supermodel!! Finally we narrowed it down to our top 2 (Cate and Alex loved the one with the cat!). **For those of you who have e-mailed me, the yummy scarf is from an on-line site called Art Noodles-I just love her stuff!!**
of three pretty amazing woman I got an opportunity to shoot this weekend! It was crazy that they all had almost the same shade of nail polish and all three had their watches on! There was a ton of love and laughter shared between the three and I am thankful that I got a chance to capture it. "J" when you are ready to add the next generation, give me a ring!
