Fashion Independence
One of my goals as a parent is to foster independence in my children and one of the ways I do that is to let them dress themselves. While Ben, who is 8, picks out his own clothes everyday, Cate and Alex get to pick whatever they want to wear once or twice a week. This morning, Alex put together this very hip outfit. Did you notice the chic way he buttoned the too small shirt over the festive tye dye?? After asking Alex if he thought all of his clothes went together, he commented "Mommy-there is Blue in everything so it matches". And there you have it. I can't wait to see what he will put together in his teenage years!!
Beth-I guess he gets his fashion sense from Ted.

Man, that's one cute kid even if his clothes don't match:)

I agree with Ben . . . sticking with one overall color scheme means he matches.
These are great pics . . . keep us updated on Ben's fashion sense!

Sorry - I totally skimmed through your blog text to get to the photos and only just realized that the pics are of Alex - so please substitute Alex for Ben in my above post.
My bad!

U Rock Alex!
Blue
I like blue. I like blue.
Do you like it too? Do you like it too?
Blue is the color of oceans and skies,
Brand-new jeans and my funky tie-dye,
Did you ever see such a color so true
As blue, blue, blue?
